Tourism of the Mind XIV - Book III cover, UPDATED
YET ANOTHER UNNUMBERED UPDATE: Another version with some work on Niku's eyes. Had to go back to the original DAZ to retrieve them. By doing more shadows and shines over and around their eyes, the effects of goggles, I have sacrificed intensity of expression for realism. Tell me what you think.
NEXT UPDATE: Final. Or at least almost final. There's a thing or two yet I might add or alter. I dirtied up that pretty sky with more smoke... is that better or worse? Other comments?
UPDATE Still lots of work still needed. I have to finish changing the wing structure from the aluminum of the photo I stole it from to Niah mega-bamboo, add the sea-eagle design on the silk, arm up our hero and heroine including the a-seeshur he'll be shooting (maybe this is the part where she says, "What's keeping you, military genius? Reload!"), finish the mark of rank on her helmet, add a bunch more wings behind and below, plus the usual plethora of tweaks. But you get the general idea. All feedback welcome and please be honest.
I personally love this one because I personally love flying.

Squinty-er eyes for Niku, because she's obviously focused far away... Wait, you kinda did do that, as I can compare that her eyelids are further down in the final... Still looks off. Just as if she's looking down. I like the focused up ones better.
The final is good except bring back the former eyes on Niku?

The frustration here
...is about creating the shadows that goggles cast plus the shine. I had to do that because to me it didn't look right without... but that has a tendency to change the direction the eyes seem to be looking.
At this point I've locked in the shadows but not the shine so there is only so much I can do. I've done some tweaks that'll show up next version, waiting for more comments before I post it.

Niku's eyes still look a lil
Niku's eyes still look a lil funny, like the (her right, our left) one is higher than it should be?
But like it otherwise =)
